Gemuruh Derau Rakyat The Rumble of the People’s Hubbub Used corrugated metal sheets, speakers, records of city life, wire 200 x 400 x 300 cm 2018

The installation consists of speakers with different sounds that spread all over the installation space. The audience could listen to a certain sound composition in a certain spot in this work. The audience allowed us to walk around the installation and free to explore the sound composition.

This work is a celebration of the noisy crowds in the city of Yogyakarta. The crowds are the sign of the presence of the inhabitants in Yogyakarta. The installation triggers the audience's perception to build a personal composition that relies on the natural human sound mixing. This would make the audience involve directly in the installation by listening carefully and closely to get the clearest sound.

This work exhibited as a part of XPLORE: New Media Art Incubation by Arcolabs and House of Natural Fiber in Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
